HostX runs directly in the browser, but you can add it to your phone's home screen like a native app. This gives you faster access and lets you receive notifications when a new booking request arrives.

On iPhone

1. Open Safari and go to hostx.app
2. Tap the share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up, in the bottom bar)
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
4. Confirm the name and tap Add

The HostX icon appears on your home screen. The next time you tap it, the app opens full screen without the browser bar.

Note: on iPhone, HostX must be opened via Safari to work correctly. Chrome and other browsers on iOS do not support this feature.

On Android

1. Open Chrome and go to hostx.app
2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner
3. Tap Add to home screen or Install app
4. Confirm

HostX appears on your home screen and works like a regular app.

Enabling notifications

After installing, open HostX from the home screen icon and accept the notification permission when prompted. From then on, whenever a guest submits a booking request through the public link, you'll receive an alert on your screen — even with the app closed.

If the permission prompt didn't appear, go to your phone's settings, find HostX in the app list, and enable notifications manually.
